Refund and Cancellation Policy
Version 2, last updated 11 October 2026
What changed
Corrections, in effect from 11 October 2026.
- Section 5 now describes what actually happens when a payment fails. Nothing is deleted on the non-payment path.
Changes to your rights and obligations, in effect from 11 November 2026, at least thirty days after we notified you.
- Section 2 is new: a 14 day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, with a model withdrawal form.
- Section 1 and Section 6 commit us to refunding the unused part of a paid period if we end your subscription for a reason other than your breach.
- Section 1 now says that early features (Section 2.5 of the Terms of Service) come at no additional charge and that their availability is not a basis for a refund.
- Section 6 states that a duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation, and a charge for an account you did not add are refunded, not left to our discretion.
- Section 7 no longer threatens suspension for contacting your card issuer.
We keep every earlier version on file. Email sentinel@reviewal.team for the text that applied on a particular date.
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for Sentinel by Reviewal subscriptions. It applies to all users of the Service and is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
1. No refunds
This applies to:
- The base monthly or annual subscription fee.
- The additional $50/month per-account fees for extra monitored accounts.
- Any applicable taxes collected.
This policy exists because Sentinel is a self-serve, subscription-based B2B service. Customers can review the product, pricing, and terms freely before subscribing, and can cancel at any time to prevent future billing. Early features (Section 2.5 of the Terms of Service) are provided at no additional charge and their availability is not a basis for a refund.
2. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland)
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the day it starts, without giving any reason. Section 1 of this Policy does not limit that right.
To withdraw, tell us before the 14 days are up. Email sentinel@reviewal.team with a clear statement that you are withdrawing, or use the model form below. We will confirm receipt in writing.
We will refund everything you paid within 14 days of being told, using the same payment method. If you asked us to start monitoring straight away, we may keep a proportionate amount for the days of service you actually received before you withdrew.
After the 14 days, Section 1 applies and payments already collected are not refundable.

3. How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Billing section of Settings in Sentinel. No phone calls, emails, or negotiations are required.
When you cancel:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing cycle you have already paid for.
- You will not be charged again on the next renewal date.
- You continue to have full access to Sentinel for the remainder of the paid cycle.
- No prorated refund is issued for the unused portion of the cycle, subject to Section 2.
You can also reactivate a cancelled subscription at any time before the end of the current cycle, or subscribe again later at the then-current pricing.
4. Adding or removing monitored accounts
If you add an additional monitored account mid-cycle, a prorated $50/month charge for the remainder of the current billing cycle is added to your subscription and appears on your next invoice.
If you remove an additional account mid-cycle, the account stops being monitored immediately and a prorated credit for the unused part of that cycle is applied to your next invoice. No separate cash refund is issued.
5. Failed payments and involuntary cancellation
If a scheduled payment fails, our payment processor will retry over a short period. If the payment cannot be collected, your access to Sentinel may be suspended until the outstanding balance is paid. Your data is not deleted immediately. If the balance is still unpaid after we have told you by email that the subscription is about to end, the subscription is cancelled and your data is then retained or deleted in line with the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.
6. Exceptions
Billing corrections under this Section are not discretionary: a duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation, or a charge for an account you did not add is refunded. Beyond those corrections, the no-refund policy is our general rule, and we may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund in exceptional circumstances, including:
- Duplicate charges caused by a technical error on our side.
- Unauthorized charges resulting from a proven account compromise (subject to our investigation).
- A material failure of the Service that we are unable to resolve within a reasonable time.
- Circumstances where a refund is required by mandatory consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by our Terms of Service.
- Termination or suspension by us for a reason other than your breach of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy, in which case the unused part of the period you have paid for is refunded under Section 14.3 of the Terms of Service.
Discretionary refund requests can be submitted to sentinel@reviewal.team with a description of the circumstances. We aim to review such requests within ten (10) business days. Reviewal's decision on any discretionary refund is final.
7. If you think a charge is wrong
If you think a charge is wrong, email us at sentinel@reviewal.team before you contact your card issuer. We answer billing questions within two business days and we will correct any charge that is genuinely ours to correct. Contacting your card issuer is always your right and using it does not affect your access to Sentinel or your account in any way. While a card dispute is open we may ask you for the details we need to answer it, and we will keep your service running for the period you have paid for.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notified via the Service. Changes will not apply retroactively to payments already collected.
